Summary:

What it is |  This workshop will introduce the IANA Business Excellence activity to key IANA stakeholders and anyone else who is interested. IANA's Business Excellence activity is intended to assess the quality of work performed in the IANA function and identify areas for improvement.

Why it's Important |  The IANA function is a critical component in the Internet's organizational infrastructure. IANA is responsible for protocol parameter assignments, maintaining the root DNS zone, infrastructure DNS zones and allocating IP addresses and AS Numbers to the RIRs. By engaging the key stakeholders in the IANA function, ICANN can involve them in identifying areas where additional work is needed.

Who should attend? |  This workshop will be of particular interest to anyone who makes a direct use of IANA services as a registrant or uses IANA registries. Key stakeholders will include TLD operators, RIRs, IETF participants and the developers and network operators who use the data maintained through IANA operations.
